Staff Update
Welcome back Heather Wolfe in the office. Next week is Jamie Ikebuchi’s last week in room 6 and we will welcome Mr. Patrick Chan in to finish off the year.
Bike Rodeo Tuesday June 2
Students are invited to bring their bikes or scooters, and helmet to school on Tuesday June 2 for our Bike Rodeo. Students will participate in special activities during their PE class, guided by our amazing volunteers. From safety stations to skill-building challenges, it’s going to be a blast! We encourage all students to participate to the best of their abilities. Training wheels are totally ok! We’re grateful to Ridley's Cycle for sponsoring prizes and providing a bike maintenance tent to keep everyone riding safely, and to the events committee of the school council for making this happen!
If your child does not come to school with a helmet and a bike or scooter, they will participate in activities on foot.
Students will be directed by a volunteer to park their bike or scooter in a designated area for their class when they arrive at school. We ask that the bikes and scooters be left unlocked in the morning of the bike rodeo day as volunteers will be on site to keep the bikes and scooters safe during the school day. If your student(s) are not heading home directly after school, please send a lock with them and they can lock up their bike or scooter at the rack after their activities. You can then collect the bike at a tie convenient to you.
After the bike rodeo session students will be offered a snack provided by the school. If you prefer your child does not receive a snack, please inform their homeroom teacher.
Melissa Allan Author Visit Wednesday June 3
Melissa Allan is the author of Brave Like the Buffalo. She is coming to do a reading and Q&A with all students on Wednesday morning. This is especially exciting as students have been working on the ideas from this book throughout the year and created a fabulous mural in the main hallway. Ask you child what it means to be brave like the buffalo.
