Showcase Assembly

Congratulations to our kindies and room 6 students for sharing their learning about grit and resilience in an awesome showcase assembly today. Thank you to all staff involved including Ms. Moore, Ms. Brado, Ms. Langereis and Ms. Lockerbie for making this wonderful event happen. And thank you to all the family members who came out to celebrate their child’s learning along with us.

Digital Citizenship

We support and safeguard students as they develop online safety skills and learn to be good digital citizens in an environment that is safe, but that gradually broadens their experience. Schools, in collaboration with students and parents, establish guidelines for appropriate use of the internet through their school's digital citizenship plan and the appropriate filter level for the school. Digital citizenship is part of creating and maintaining a welcoming, caring, respectful and safe environment for everyone in the school community. More information can be found here https://www.cbe.ab.ca/digital-citizenship

In support of this work, today students in grade 1-5 are bringing home the CBE Admirable Use letter for you to review at home with your student, and we invite you to sign and return it to school.

The Scenic Acres Digital Citizenship Plan for 2026-2027 highlights some of the teaching we will be doing this year, and can be found on this page on our school web site. https://scenicacres.cbe.ab.ca/digital-citizenship

Winter is Here

With the changing weather please ensure your student has appropriate layers, and consider packing a change of clothes in case they become wet. On that note, if you have any outgrown pants, K-3 sizes, that you could donate to the school as loaners we would very much appreciate it. If a student is in cold wet clothing after having fun outside, it becomes less fun!

Please also remind you student(s) that at school we do not pick up, eat or throw snow. Rolling snow to make sculptures is a great activity.
