Safety Patrollers

Our grade 5 AMA safety patrollers got started this week. We appreciate your patience as drivers and pedestrians. We will all soon get used to the routines.

Meet the Teacher

On Thursday afternoon it was so nice to see many of you stopping in to meet the teacher and see the classroom. If you were not able to make it and would like to drop in, please reach out to your teacher(s) to make arrangements.

Sound System Upgrades

Our gym sound system was upgraded this week to connect to a superior radio frequency, add a microphone head set for instruction in noisy activities such as dance, and to add blue tooth connectivity. We are extremely grateful to our school council for funding these upgrades.

Terry Fox Run

We had a beautiful day for our Terry Fox Run today and an enthusiastic sideline of supporting family and friends!

Showcase Assembly

Our very first Showcase Assembly was hosted by the grade 3 class in which they helped our school community develop a deeper understanding of IMATT and ways to resolve conflict. Parents of presenting classes are invited to attend these assemblies through the year, and you will receive notification when your students’ class is scheduled to present.

IPP Interviews

For students on an IPP, you will be invited to meet with teachers on Friday Sep 25 to discuss the details of the IPP. Your input is valued now and throughout the year.

Rough Play

Here at Scenic Acres we do not allow rough play or play fighting. For those engaging in these kinds of activities it can lead to injuries, or can be taken too far causing damage to friendships. To witnesses it looks like fighting, which can cause distress. And it takes the attention of supervisors away from other students who may need support. If your student has a tendency to play like this, please reinforce to them that this is not ok in school. We appreciate your support.
