Principal's Message - May 8, 2026

Soccer

This week students enjoyed the soccer residency, again through the support of school council and school society. Benefits of soccer include physical development, social and teamwork skills, mental health and emotional growth, cognitive benefits and inclusivity.

School yard soccer during recess and lunch, without an adult managing the game, provides opportunities for students to negotiate rules and reach agreements, learn to trust others and work toward shared goals. It teaches resilience by managing wins and losses and fosters a growth mindset.

Staff Updates

In room 5 Hollie Query is returning from maternity leave on Monday. Kya Rawlings will be here on Monday to support the transition and may be back in the building as a sub before the end of the year. We thank Kya and know she will be missed by her students.

In room 6 Jamie Ikebuchi will be here until June 5 and Patrick Chan will be here for the last 3 weeks of the school year.
