A quick update: Ms. Wolfe will be away until December 1. During this time, Ms. Lawson (email is holawson@cbe.ab.ca) will be covering in the office, and Ms. Carolina is helping in the kindergarten room. Thank you for your flexibility and support.

If your child will be absent or late

The fastest way to report an absence is to call the attendance line. (in addition, you may also email your child’s teacher and Mr. Garner if you wish).

  • Call: 403-777-6193 (press 1 for attendance)
  • Email: bjgarner@cbe.ab.ca (and your child’s teacher)

Please include:

  • Your child’s full name
  • Teacher’s name
  • Date(s) of absence or late arrival
  • Reason (e.g., illness, medical appointment, family event)

This helps us enter the correct attendance code in PowerSchool and meet Alberta Education requirements.

CBE Attendance: At a Glance

  • Attendance matters. Success in school is closely linked to being present and on time.
  • Chronic absenteeism = missing 10% or more of school days (18+ days per year).
  • Excused absences include illness, medical appointments, religious holidays, family emergencies, or approved school events.
  • Unexcused absences include family holidays during school time, extracurriculars during school hours, or absences without notification.

If absences or lates become frequent, teachers and Mr. Garner will connect with families to create a supportive plan. Our goal is for every student to feel connected, safe, and successful at school.

School Photos

  • Lifetouch delivered individual school photos today.
  • Retakes/Missed Photo Day: Friday, November 21, 2025.
  • Please message your child’s teacher if a retake is needed so we can ensure they are sent to the gym for a new photo.

Remembrance Day Assembly

  • Date: Friday, November 7, 2025.
  • Due to fire code capacity, in-person seating is very limited.
  • We will livestream on our private Instagram account: “scenicacresschool”.
  • A small number of seats are reserved for parent/guardian presenters and helpers. If applicable, please contact Mr. Garner for details and availability.

No School – Fall Break

  • There is no school (FALL BREAK) for all CBE schools Monday, November 10 to Wednesday, November 12, 2025.
  • Classes resume Thursday, November 13, 2025.
